WES PARKER

WES PARKER

Wes Parker is an American musician and songwriter from Richmond, Virginia. He is best known as the former frontman of Camp Howard and Ruth Good, and for his solo work blending indie rock, garage rock, and storytelling. Before beginning his solo project, Parker performed extensively in the independent music scene with Camp Howard and Ruth Good, bands known for their energetic live performances and DIY touring ethic. His solo material continues in a similarly raw and personal vein, drawing on experiences from years of touring, as well as themes of addiction, heartbreak, and personal recovery. Outside of music, Parker is also known for creating comedic online content and characters, including his crust-punk alter ego “Skunk,” which has become a recognizable part of his internet presence. Parker’s songwriting often reflects a mixture of humor, vulnerability, and everyday observation. His influences span punk, indie rock, and classic alternative music, and his work frequently carries the scrappy, homegrown spirit of the Richmond music community where he began performing. When not performing or writing songs, Parker has said he spends time working in the service industry, metal detecting, and creating short-form videos. He has also spoken about a fascination with tornadoes, describing them as both his greatest fear and curiosity. .
