The Hickey-Shanafelt 9ollective, led by long-time friends Kent Hickey and Alex Shanafelt, is a modern jazz nonet dedicated to writing, commissioning, and performing original music, written by local artists for the Indianapolis community. Founded in 2019, the group is composed of established and up-and-coming professionals who share a passion for connecting with people through new music. s versatile sound and broad stylistic range keeps every show fresh and engaging for every listener.
