They boast a dedicated following and a rich, full sound influenced by Latin music legends such as Santana, Malo, Sapo, Fania All Stars, Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colon, and many more. At the helm are guitarist Oscar Estrella and Timbalero Jimmy Palafox, who have meticulously assembled an impressive lineup of talent that blends youthful exuberance with seasoned expertise.
Oscar Estrella, originally from Cuba, grew up in the Mission District of San Francisco, where he immersed himself in the flourishing Latin rock movement. He is a proud member of Richard Beans MALO, a group co-founded by Jorge Santana, Carlos Santanas younger brother. The Collective is known for featuring special guest performances from some of the most talented Latin musicians in Northern California, adding even more excitement to their shows.
PAWN SHOP SOULFormed in 2013, Pawn Shop Soul found its roots in instrumental favorites from Englands Northern Soul DJs. From there, inspiration comes from horn and organ bands of funk and soul jazz sound sphere. A natural cousin in line up and feel, Pawn Shop Soul pulls in a fist full of boogaloo tunes.
Featuring a four-horn frontline, this nine-piece band also venerates organ trio and afro-cuban influences.
