Here are some basic things about Lauren. First, Lauren was born in Yonkers, NY, in 1986 (that makes her 22) on a brisk January morning to Marcy and Steve, a music teacher and college professor. She has an older sister named Elana who introduced Lauren to everything worth knowing in the world. At the age of 10, she convinced her parents to get a dog and they named him Bunktin Clunky Smith. Life was good. As Lauren grew, so did her desire to create. She couldn’t draw, she couldn’t sew but she could sing and coming from a long line of musical family members, Lauren decided to carry on the legacy. So, she took some guitar lessons and learned how to play other people’s songs. This was fun for a while but something wasn’t right and she grew impatient. With her new found restlessness, Lauren decided to write a song. Oh yes, a twelve minute long song, filled will teenage angst and droning pathos. She then wrote another and another and played them for her family and friends. But once again, Lauren became restless.
